Project Management - Overview

Getting a project finished on time with the desired outcome is not luck - it is accomplished through planning and follow through.  The best intentions will not make up for the lack of planning and the fact that most staff members working on a project have "real" jobs to do.

A failed project or one that doesn't deliver the expected outcome is not only a waste of money and time but is a major demoralizing event for employees.  Depending on the nature of the project a failure may mean that new products will be delayed, fee revenue lost, client expectations not met, the effects ripple through the whole department.
